About Me
My name is Carlyn Hopkins (she/her) and I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and an IFS Certified Therapist with the Internal Family System’s Institute. I obtained my Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Toronto in 2017. Previously, I studied Psychology at McGill University in Montreal where I completed my Bachelor of Arts. I have provided psychotherapy services to students at York University and most recently to teens and adults with a diagnosis of ADHD at Springboard Clinic.
As a psychotherapist, I am passionate about supporting my clients to gain greater insight into their present challenges through seeking to understand how their past is impacting them today. Through exploring their unique strengths and abilities I empower clients to find their path forward. As a Level II trained practitioner, the Internal Family System’s Therapy model is central to my work with clients.
I have a background in outdoor recreation and camping as well as supporting children and youth with exceptionalities and special needs. Originally from Toronto, I relocated to Thunder Bay in December of 2020. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, mushroom foraging, snow shoeing, baking, camping, and crafting.
